Your agreement with Hold That

Hold That is an early-stage service for saving, understanding, and organizing Instagram Reels and posts shared in DMs, public Threads posts, public TikTok videos, direct image or video shares that pass security checks, and text notes. By creating or using a Hold That account, continuing through the private sign-in flow, or using the service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these Terms. You may use Hold That only with accounts and content you are authorized to access, and in compliance with the relevant platform terms and applicable law.

Connected accounts and API access

Hold That may let you connect verified Instagram, Threads, TikTok, email, web, or MCP/API access to one private Notebook account. You may connect only identities you control. Hold That will not merge a provider identity without provider-based verification.

MCP/API tokens act with the scopes you select. Keep them secret, give write access only to clients you trust, and revoke a token in Settings if it may be exposed. AI questions use your plan allowance; access ends when the token expires, is revoked, or the required paid entitlement is no longer active.

What you share through Instagram

When you message @holdthatreel, you direct Meta to send Hold That the messages, links, replies, attachments, media details, timestamps, and Instagram-scoped account identifier needed to receive and respond to your request. Hold That does not receive your Instagram password, your contacts, your entire Saved tab, or unrelated private conversations.

You keep any ownership rights you have in content you send. You give Hold That a limited permission to receive, retrieve, copy, process, transcribe, summarize, translate, tag, organize, store, and display that content only to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal obligations, and the anti-abuse record described in our Privacy Policy.

All attachments are treated as untrusted. Hold That does not support PDFs, documents, archives, executables, HTML, or unknown file formats. Those attachments are quarantined as inert metadata; we do not open, render, parse, preserve their download link, or send them to an AI provider. Direct image and video shares are used only after strict host, size, declared-type, and file-signature validation. Accepted images are decoded and re-encoded before storage or analysis.

AI and third-party services

If AI enrichment is enabled, Hold That may send the content you submit and available Instagram context to AI service providers to generate transcripts, summaries, translations, titles, tags, and related features. You can turn AI enrichment off in Settings or by sending AI OFF. Source-only saving will continue. Generated material can be incomplete or wrong; verify important information against the original source.

Hold That also relies on hosting, database, media-retrieval, messaging, analytics, and payment providers. Their processing is described more specifically in our Privacy Policy.

Messages and your choices

Hold That sends replies and processing confirmations for things you request. You can turn confirmations off for silent saving at Settings or by sending SILENT ON; explicit commands will still answer. Separately, you can choose whether to receive proactive Instagram messages such as reminders, recommendations, or product updates. Proactive messages are off by default for new accounts. Change this anytime at Settings or by sending MESSAGES ON or MESSAGES OFF.

Paid plans and cancellation

Paid plans renew monthly until canceled. Prices, included usage, and any applicable taxes are shown before checkout. Upgrades may take effect immediately; downgrades and cancellations generally take effect at the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel through Stripe's customer portal from your private library. Except where required by law, charges already paid are not refundable for a partially used billing period.

When a free trial is offered, checkout shows the trial length and the price that follows it before you subscribe. The current Plus offer is free for 30 days and then renews automatically at $2 per month unless you cancel before the trial ends. A payment method is required, and the introductory trial is limited to eligible first-time Plus subscribers. You may instead choose the optional Founding Plus path, which skips the trial, charges $2 immediately, renews at $2 per month, and records the subscription as an early founding-supporter purchase.

Free-plan history

The Free plan provides access to the most recent 30 days of Notebook history. Paid plans include permanent Notebook history while the service operates. Older Free-plan records may become inaccessible and are not guaranteed to remain recoverable indefinitely.

Referral rewards

A unique invited person who joins through your referral link and signs in to their private Hold That library for the first time can earn you 30 days of full Pro access, with the same product features and usage limits as a paid Pro account. The invited person does not have to buy a plan. Rewards have no cash value. If you already have paid access, referral time is banked until that paid access ends. Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, fraud, and abuse may be excluded or reversed.

Acceptable use

Do not send illegal, infringing, abusive, or harmful material; misuse the service; interfere with its operation; attempt unauthorized access; evade limits; scrape other users' libraries; or use Hold That to violate another person's rights. Access may be limited or removed to protect the service or others.

Availability and account termination

The service is provided on an as-available basis and may change, pause, or end. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, nonpayment, or violation of these Terms. You can stop using the service at any time and request deletion as described below.

Privacy, access, and deletion

Our Privacy Policy explains the information we process and your choices. Send DELETE MY DATA from the relevant Instagram account to request deletion. Removing or disconnecting Instagram access stops future access but does not by itself delete previously saved items.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Hold That is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Hold That is not responsible for decisions made from generated content or for Instagram, creator, or third-party content becoming unavailable. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will revise the effective date and provide reasonable notice of material changes. Continued use after the new Terms take effect means you accept them.
