I’m Daniel Spears. I built Hold That for my own feed because I was saving research, art, tutorials, film, business ideas, and useful nonsense faster than I could ever find it again.
In my first 14 days using the working product, I held 101 things: 69 Reels, 28 posts, three notes, and one upload. They became 41 topic Notebooks ranging from GTM experiments and security ideas to sci-fi art and Japanese film. That messy, cross-topic use is the product test—not a made-up persona.

What Hold That is—and is not
- It currently handles Instagram Reels and posts shared in DMs, public Threads posts, public TikTok videos, direct image or video shares that pass security checks, and text notes.
- It uses official Instagram messaging infrastructure; it does not ask for the user’s Instagram password.
- Results depend on what Instagram and the source media make available. A transcript may not be possible for every Reel.
- Generated summaries can be wrong. Important details should be checked against the original Reel.
- Saved material is private to the sender’s library and can be edited or deleted.

What does Hold That return?
Depending on the Reel and available media, Hold That can return an AI-generated title, concise summary, key takeaways, transcript, suggested tags and notebook, plus a link back to the original. Users can edit the generated fields, add notes, organize notebooks, and delete saved material.
How does a user sign in?
The user sends LOGIN to @holdthatreel in Instagram. Hold That replies with a one-time private link that is good for 24 hours and can be used once. Hold That never asks for or receives the user's Instagram password.
